About the new show: GITANES BLONDES of COULEUR CAFÉ

Where: SUD HAUSS, Basel, Switzerland.

Cast: 8 musicians, 1 dancer, 1 actor and the special participation of Choir of Voices.

How? Presentation of gypsy culture popular songs, Yoruba patterns , of Serge Gainsbourg and own authorship, executed in key Afro Acid Jazz Flamenca, with poetic voices of Luis de Camoes and Vinicius de Moraes. It is a subjective adaptation, more musical than choreographyc, of the book " La Marche de Long Champ " story based on real facts that tells a love story lived in France between a Roma man , marginalized by society and a high society French girl. Using this context to weave a show that plays the concepts of passion, love, pride, and self-improvement.

Synopsis: Yosef is a Jewish Gypsy who has lost his family killed in a brawl. Decided to continue with his life he turns on road traveling alone to meet casually in Avignon with Julia, a woman who he falls in love with. He changes his life's road to live a life that is quite unknown to him in Paris. Julia meets another man and betrays Yosef...

About Bernardo de Barros "Maluk"

Bernardo de Barros "Maluk", Brazil, 1976. Dancer, choreographer, percussionist, music composer, writer, artistic and executive producer. He has been awarded as best dancer and choreographer at age 19 in IV FESTIVAL of dances of the MERCOSUR. Soloist dancer of the opera Carmen directed by Marcos Aurelio presented at the Municipal Theater of São Paulo. At the age of 22 invited by Felipe Sánchez moved to Madrid to join the “España Danza” company, where he works with the great Spanish choreographers, Alberto Lorca, Cristóbal Reyes and Felipe Sánchez. His works include having integrated Grammy winner band and BBC Award for the best European band, OJOS DE BRUJO. Since 2001 in parallel to his work on art projects, produces his own under the label anarkoflamenco and directs the ANARKOFLAMENCO ENSEMBLE. His latest production has been premiered in Barcelona in 2012 and has been called "BROKEN BOOTS", well received by critics. He is recognized in Barcelona, city where he lives, how street art activist, outsider artist and rebel.

About the production of the new show:

Bernardo de Barros "Maluk" has funded this production that brings together musicians from Brazil, Spain, France, Ireland and Switzerland through performances in bars and restaurants in Basel, presenting almost every night a brief choreography. It has been supported by ZUM KUSS, DON PINCHO, CARGO BAR and KULTURBEITZ 113. In the same way the percussionist and singer Inés Brodbeck has played an important role bringing together Swiss cast together foreign musicians that are part of ANARKOFLAMENCO ENSEMBLE history. This action is of great interest as experience in a world that is always marked by difficulties of funding artistic projects. It is an independent production with all the honors of the word.

About the Anarkoflamenco Ensemble

The Anarkoflamenco Ensemble since its inception in 2001 in Madrid has always been a grouping of several musicians for various projects, marked by creative heterodoxy. "Maluk" wanted to always uphold the freedom of their projects in relation to the cast. One way or another with over these 14 years that separate us from the first show, some artists have been more common than others, but always all members have categorized for professional excellence.

Musicians recognized in Catalonian, French and Brazilian jazz have integrated the ensemble: Marco Mezquida, Thibaud Dufoy, Ivan Santaeulalia, Roqui Albero, Noé Escolá, Diego Lezcano, Sebastian Tesouro, Santiago Sánchez, Marisol Jardin, Marina Sala, Eduardo Gomez, Luis Miguel, Manuelito, El Julito, El Potaje, Didier Labbé, Nicolas Calvet, Juanlú.
